Massage Do Nye

The hot stone treatment of the Tibetan tradition

Receiving a Ku Nye treatment

What is the message Do Nye

The Do Nye, or hot stone treatment, is a technique used in certain practices of Tibetan massage Ku Nye, derived from traditional Tibetan medicine Sowa Rigpa.

This method uses heated natural stones, usually mineral-rich volcanic stones, applied to the body to diffuse a gentle and deep heat.

The heat from the stones helps to relax the muscles, stimulate circulation and support the flow of energy in the body's channels.

In the Tibetan tradition, stones are sometimes used to work on the muscles, energy points and subtle channels, in order to promote balance between the body and mind.

The Do Nye is thus appreciated for its relaxing and therapeutic effects, helping to release accumulated tension in the body.

The Do Nye in practice

During a treatment, the practitioner heats the stones to an appropriate temperature before applying them to different areas of the body.

The stones can be:

  • placed on specific areas

  • used to massage the muscles

  • applied to certain energy points.

The heat from the stones gradually penetrates the tissues and allows forthe release of muscle tension while promoting blood and energy circulation..

As part of the Ku Nye massage, the Do Nye can be integrated with other techniques to enhance relaxation and support overall energy balance.
